A fragrant, wholesome bread that’s super simple to make. A perfect accompaniment to soup, hummus or as toast.
Ingredients
- 3 tsp Naturya Chia Seeds
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 ½ tsp Naturya Turmeric SuperBlend
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 x 7g sachet dried yeast
- ½ tsp sugar
- ¾ cup water (at room temperature)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Method
- Pour the Chia Seeds into a jug and cover with boiled water and wait for the seeds to swell
- In a mixing bowl, mix dry ingredients except for yeast and sugar
- Create a well in the mixture, add yeast and sprinkle sugar just right on it
- Pour a little water on them and mix
- Add olive oil, lemon juice, swollen Chia Seeds and rest of mineral water and mix until you have a soft dough
- Place dough in a warm draught free place and wait for 45-60 minutes until it rises
- Preheat the oven at 180°C
- Lay the baking sheet on the baking tray
- Sprinkle a surface and your hands with some flour
- Split the dough into 16 equal pieces and roll each piece until it’s 8 inches long. Take 2 rolled pieces and wrap them around each other all the way to the end, curve them into a circle and join the ends using a bit of water as the glue. Using a little brush, dab the top with some water
- Leave to sit for 15 minutes
- Transfer to the oven and bake for 30 minutes until golden
